Job Overview

Company’s Food Care Division is updating its organization to intensify efforts to build new revenue sources based on services that address a wide range of customer issues and opportunities. A newly formed Automation & Integration (“A&I”) Group will combine a broad set of capabilities, including core equipment sales and service and extending to engineering consulting services, to create significant differentiation against the competition and a more attractive business model that increases focus on delivering customer outcomes, monetizing expertise, and generating highly profitable, recurring revenues.

The leader of the A&I Group will be charged with executing critical elements of the Food Care strategy relating both to growing traditional equipment and services revenues and to developing new consultative solutions and subscription-based information services. The A&I business will support existing packaging revenue and customers as well as develop new, independent revenue streams.

Success in this role will require strong business management skills, the ability to manage both physical product and professional services businesses, and a collaborative approach in working with the Food Care global leadership team and other Company functions, notably the Digital team.

Responsibilities Lead the execution of the A&I strategy and ensure the strategy evolves appropriately based on learnings and market developments Own the A&I annual business plan and deliver against global and regional financial targets Build a strong culture of collaboration across regions and functions within Food Care and the broader Company organization Develop the offering set, designed to create industry-leading and profitable solutions across equipment & parts, services & applications, system integration, and automation & integration solutions Serve as the chief salesperson for A&I, driving all personnel involved in sales to collaborate effectively to identify potential leads and successfully pursue opportunities Establish strong connections with customers and the broader market as an ambassador for Company’s A&I capabilities and the foremost expert regarding the competitive environment for our offerings Develop A&I delivery capabilities to ensure that services are provided at the best levels of quality for customers and profitability for Company Build new capabilities in selling and delivering professional and engineering services Ensure that capability and solution development is coordinated and leveraged across regions, maximizing shared knowledge and resources Define strategies for leveraging business partners and contractors to fill capability gaps against execution needs Lead implementation of cost management and pricing policies and processes for A&I offerings Acquire, develop, coach and retain A&I talent REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: BS/BA in engineering, business, or a related field; MBA desirable Minimum 10 years of successful leadership experience, with increasing levels of responsibility, including P&L responsibility Strong financial acumen with demonstrated ability to manage a P&L and control margins while generating revenue Tracking record of building businesses in ambiguous or developing environments, demonstrating innovative, creative and entrepreneurial approaches Ability to communicate and coordinate strategic plans and customer/ innovation initiatives across functions and divisions Experience providing and/or managing engineering or consulting services, preferably as stand-alone vs. bundled offerings Expertise in defining and articulating integrated value propositions Demonstrated team management and leadership capabilities in a selling environment Strong interpersonal skills, such as consensus building and facilitation Ability to travel internationally; up to 50% travel Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills Fluent in English, more language skills are preferred ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in food packaging and/or food packaging equipment sales or account management, plant management, processing, quality assurance, or similar role Some formal training in Lean Six Sigma, Value Chain Analysis, or similar process improvement disciplines Experience working in multi-national or multi-location business and able to manage remote teams effectively
