Consultants seeks a highly motivated Parking and Mobility Planning
Consultant and Project Manager to help build our Carolinas
Planning, Operations, and Technology practice. As a Parking and
Mobility Planning Consultant, you will play an integral role in the
success of our local practice. You will be: - Supporting our
long-term strategy for planning, operations, and technology work in
the region - Participating in a local office culture that

for our clients and our firm within the local industry - Leading
and supporting a wide range of projects—from mixed-use development
projects to strategic master plans, transit operation feasibility
plans, micro-mobility plans, and more. This position is the perfect

As a Consultant with the Carolinas Planning, Operations, and
Technology practice, you will be an integral part of the small but
mighty Charlotte team, while supporting our national group of
experts and collaborating with planners, engineers, and urban
designers across the country to serve our clients. You’ll have an
opportunity to directly test ideas, shape policy, and see your
plans implemented. At Walker, we go beyond planning—we are
implementers at the forefront of real change. Responsibilities
include, but are not limited to: - Working collaboratively with a
growth mindset. - Actively maintain existing client relationships
and assist in new client business development activities. -
Participating in the development of proposals, RFQ/RFP responses,
and interview presentations with the support of local and national
marketing and technical staff. - Helping to create and mentor a
supportive, warm, motivating, and innovative local office team. -
Building and maintaining excellent relationships within the local
industry and promoting Walker as the region’s consultant of choice.
- Managing parking and mobility projects for public sector and
private sector clients, such as supply and demand analysis,
operational analyses, master plans, implementation and action
plans, and more. - Effectively communicating and connecting with a
broad range of clients and maintaining strong relationships with
clients. - Lending skill and expertise as needed on projects, with
a focus on mobility planning, parking, and curbside management,
operations, and technology, data collection, and analysis. -
Leading and/or supporting community engagement, awareness, and
collaboration efforts in line with our national community
engagement policies and practices. - Preparing and presenting
technical reports, memos, presentations, and other documents in a
way that represents our work well and is digestible to a wide range
of audiences, from CEOs and City Councils to student groups and
immigrant communities. Qualifications and Requirements The
following experience is required for this role: - 5 years of
relevant professional experience in parking, mobility, curbside, or
transportation planning, including project management experience. -
3 years in a consulting or professional services environment. - A
bachelor’s degree in urban planning or policy, engineering, or a
related planning field. - Demonstrated experience maintaining
existing client relationships and supporting new client business
development efforts. - Demonstrated excellent written, verbal, and
critical thinking skills. - Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft
Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. - Willingness to travel within the
Carolinas (up to ~30%, varying by project phase). In addition, the
following requirements are preferred: - 5 years of relevant
professional experience managing projects and/or studies in the
East Coast Region. - 3 years of experience at a consulting or
professional services firm in the East Coast Region. - An advanced
degree (Master’s or higher) in urban planning or policy,
engineering, or a related planning field. We are seeking someone
