As Senior Manager, Network Pharmacy Contracting within OptumRx, you will help with setting effective drug pricing within our provider networks to meet client and pharmacy contract guarantees through financial and network pricing modeling, analysis, and reporting. Primary Responsibilities:


  • Apply experience to lead negotiations with partnering pharmacy providers. Assure optimal value and mitigation of risk to drive goals and achieve metrics on behalf of ORx and its clients
  • Strategize which external partnerships to pursue based on risk, value, and feasibility of value-based opportunities
  • Facilitate contract strategy for value-based agreements, and innovative partnership strategies
  • Collaborate with internal partners to ensure ongoing execution of processes are in line with contractual obligations
  • Assist in data generation and collateral for senior leadership business updates
  • Utilize exceptional organizational skills in the management of OptumRx contracts including but not limited to ensuring accurate/timely data, generating reports, and tracking monthly performance & adherence metrics
  • Be on point as the SME for Provider contracting related queries for our provider relations help desk

    One year of post-high school education can be substituted/is equivalent to one year of experience.
    Required Qualifications:

    • 5+ years of experience in any of the three: -

      • PBM/ Healthcare pricing
      • Process Improvement/transformation
      • Performing business/financial analysis
      • External consulting/auditing risk analysis
      • Healthcare and managed care experience
      • Customer journey/experience
      • Data visualization experience with Tableau or Power BI -
      • Process improvement / project management experience -


      • Value Based Contract experience, with a focus on negotiation


        Preferred Qualifications:

        • Pharmaceutical and drug industry experience / background -
        • Advanced experience utilizing PowerPoint and Excel

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
