Job Description:
We are seeking a Manager, Business Intelligence for one of our
US locations. The Manager, Business Intelligence (BI) creates an
information advantage for the organization. This role serves as the
technical owner for our reporting and analytics solutions,
responsible for leading delivery and operations. This position is
accountable for leading, managing, mentoring, and developing the BI
team, and is also required to be hands-on in developing BI
solutions. Main areas of responsibility:
- Collaborate with senior management and other business
stakeholders to deliver and maintain robust portfolios of analytics
solutions that assist the organization in achieving its objectives
and improving performance
- Understand the business needs for reporting and analytics.
Advise business stakeholders and make recommendations for ways to
maximize the use of data and analytics
- Champion adoption of BI systems/tools/processes where
appropriate
- Manage BI tools and architecture, planning for current and
future needs. Ensure BI solutions conform to data management
standards & practices
- Lead a high-performing development and implementation team by
recruiting, training, coaching and developing effective staff
- Monitor and improve BI operations, automating processes where
possible and identifying and correcting issues proactively
- Drive development and enforcement of business intelligence best
practices, including maintenance of centralized business term
definitions and related metadata
- Maintain relevant metrics to provide transparency on reporting
solutions usage and team performance
- Develop and maintain the roadmap and operating plan for
business intelligence
- Hands-on development of reports and dashboards to business
specifications Minimum Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in developing, deploying and maintaining
reporting and analytics technology platforms in the P&C
Insurance Industry.
- 5+ years hands-on experience with reporting and analytics
solutions such as PowerBI, MicroStrategy, Business Objects, Cognos
and Tableau
- Hands-on experience in creating dashboards, reports, analytics
for P&C insurance companies that support data driven decision
making and support
- 10+ years of experience with increasing responsibilities for
management and support of information systems and information
technology, direct management of a major IT operation is
preferred
- Experience with data and analysis issues associated with
Property and Casualty Insurance
- Experience with Microsoft SQL, T-SQL, SSRS, and stored
procedures preferably in the insurance industry
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex BI implementation
projects
- Familiarity with a range of data management and business
intelligence approaches and tools
- Experience in implementing BI standards and development
methodology
- Strong customer service skills
- A demonstrable history of influencing others through consensus
building in a cross functional / matrix environment Preferred
Qualifications:
- Experience in predictive analytics Education:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
Salary Range: $145,000 - $155,000 Actual compensation for this role
will depend on several factors including the cost of living
associated with your work location, your qualifications, skills,
