Job Description:


The Product Manager will be accountable for full life cycle management of assigned products and services associated with this $50M-$100M portfolio of KaVo Instruments Categories. The Product Manager will be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the product portfolio, service offerings, associated procedures, and drive desired results in their assigned category. Position Description / Main Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Category ownership including positioning, market analysis, competitive strategy, and promotion to maximize market share and profitability.
  • Manages customer segmentation, product portfolio, launch excellence, competitive positioning, market assessment, pricing, and new product/services development across assigned product lines.
  • Manages existing products through structured product life cycle management and supports the downstream launch planning and execution of flagship products.
  • Tracks and manages key performance metrics for the assigned category, i.e. revenue, profitability, product launch performance, campaign performance, etc.
  • Identifies improvement opportunities through Problem Solving Process; develops and launches countermeasures when necessary.
  • Directs pricing strategy, sales objectives, and promotional programs and ensures execution of these programs for assigned product lines.
  • Provides inputs to annual brand plan for KaVo in North America.
  • Supports Sales, Marketing, and Materials team in generating sales forecasts.
  • Drives the voice of the customer processes for assigned product areas for new product development, product enhancements and to create impactful product positioning based on customer segmentation to maximize customer retention.
  • Analyzes market trends and potentials and recommends changes, improvements, or deletions in assigned product or products.
  • Liaises with global Product Management organization, R&D and Operations teams at the company headquarters in Biberach, Germany on key initiatives, serving as voice for North America business.
  • Reviews complaints and suggestions relative to assigned product or products.
  • Coordinates with marketing managers, strategic accounts and corporate account manager(s) to create symbiotic campaigns to maximize sales of the entire KaVo portfolio.
  • Works closely with legal, regulatory, and health care compliance to effectively navigate the internal and external environment to achieve desired results in accordance with established quality standards.
  • Performs such similar, comparable or related duties as may be required. Minimum Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's Degree in a related field
    • 8+ years of relevant product management or marketing experience; alternatively, 3+ years of demonstrated success within the dental industry
    • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
    • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
    • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
    • Solid oral, written and presentation skills to effectively communicate and influence a cross-functional team. Preferred Requirements:
      • MBA
