Job Description:Role Summary/Purpose:The Senior Supplier
Management Leader (SSML) role provides direct support to
Synchrony's functions across the entire lifecycle of supplier
engagements and partners closely with the Source to Pay team to
ensure that supplier deals are onboarded swiftly while mitigating
risk. Support includes supplier risk profiling, advice on
identification and resolution of risks, communications to
functional management and assistance to functional teams on
execution of all Supplier Management Program activities.
Additionally, this role is responsible for identifying and
championing Supplier Management process improvement
opportunities.We're proud to offer you choice and flexibility. You

of our offices. You may be occasionally requested to commute to our
nearest office for in person engagement activities such as team
meetings, training and culture events.Essential
Responsibilities:
- Advise, monitor and ensure accuracy of the functions' execution
of all aspects of supplier management ensuring quality performance
of completion of supplier engagement descriptions, categorization
and inherent risk profiling
- Support the Source to Pay community (including Supplier
Managers and Functional Designees) with training and guidance
ensure appropriate execution of supplier management activities
- For high priority and/or urgent supplier deals, partner with
Supplier Managers and Sourcing to drive completion of required
supplier risk-related activity (e.g. evaluations, risks, risk
acceptances, country evaluation) to ensure that the deal is ready
for signature.
- Partner with Sourcing, 2nd Line of Defense, Legal, Functional
Management and others in Source to Pay to proactively address
deficiencies in the control environment and respond to supplier
failure events
- Leverage supplier management workflow and reporting tools to
guide the functions in documenting, remediating and escalating
supplier risks that exceed program tolerance thresholds
- Recommend and drive actions to mitigate supplier risk
- Maintain ongoing awareness of regulatory guidelines, emerging
issues, industry trends, and evaluations required of suppliers and
supplier managers.
- Partner with bank leadership and supplier management program
stakeholders to understand those trends and drive simplicity in
execution wherever possible and value in process delivery for
optimal success
- Create a culture of performance excellence and compliance by
performing training, coaching and mentoring of key stakeholders,
driving understanding and awareness of bank policy and the
regulatory requirements that govern the vendor risk management
process
- Lead efforts for SSML team to compile feedback on S2P
risk-related activities (including running the regular Source to
Pay Office Hours). In response to that feedback, champion
development and adoption of best practices to identify, communicate
and manage risk throughout the supplier lifecycle, including
developing requirements to improve the Source to Pay technology
solution.
- Perform other duties and/or special projects as
assignedQualifications/Requirements:
- 5+ years financial services industry experience with a
bachelor's degree; in lieu of a bachelor's degree 8+ years
financial services industry experience
- 3+ years experience with Supplier Management and Supplier
Management business tools; prior Supplier
Surveillance/Management/Functional Specialist/Sourcing/Procurement
experienceDesired Characteristics:

pressure work environmentGrade/Level: 12The salary range for this
position is 85,000.00 - 170,000.00 USD AnnualSalaries are adjusted
according to market in CA and Metro NY and some positions are bonus
eligible.Eligibility Requirements:
- You must be 18 years or older
- You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background
investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding
process
- You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of
the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
- New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service
with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles.
Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the
associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before
they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or
greater, must have at least 24 months' time in position before they
can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance
expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the
approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in
