Food Rocket is a San Francisco-based FoodTech startup that provides the fastest grocery delivery in the US, promising door-to-door delivery within 10-15 minutes of placing an order. Its business model is based on AI-enabled technologies to manage inventory, forecast demand, and optimize delivery time by predicting the closest micro fulfillment center that offers the fastest delivery time and the lowest fulfillment and delivery cost. The startup is competing with the biggest players in the market - DoorDash, GoPuff, Amazon Fresh, InstaCart.

As Regional Operations Manager, you will be responsible for building Food Rockets' presence in Charlotte, NC from the very beginning. This is a unique opportunity for you to apply your skills in a fast-developing environment and grow rapidly along with the business. You will define and implement a go-to-market strategy, build a team, scale, and rationalize the business. You will be responsible for execution of the strategy, end-to-end results, and the PnL of the business in a market. You will work closely with dedicated senior managers from the HQ that will support rollout and ongoing business operations. As a key stakeholder for product teams, you will also play a critical role in identifying improvements in existing products and provide insights into what needs to be built for the future. Food Rocket has a strong culture of data-driven decision-making, requiring; timely, accurate, and actionable intelligence that delivers significant business value. We are looking for a hands-on and motivated self-starter who's passionate about using data to help us improve process efficiency and effectiveness so as to generate a pipeline, growth, and sales productivity across functional teams.Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate for assigned area learning and development programs by partnering with leadership and assessing the company's growing areas as to effectively message, brand, and embed specific programs
  • Participate in onboarding and continuous training of 1099 and W2 employees. Partner with teams to support building and operating market programs including HR, recruiting, operations, customer support and other project teams across the organization. Own's boots on the ground set up and launch sites in area. Support and implement a culture of coaching, mentoring, career conversations and internal mobility
  • Use data and metrics to drive evaluation on program effectiveness and ROIs to inform the needs of the organization
  • Facilitate all training for assigned area teams of contractors, frontline employees. Maintain and update training program materials, including but not limited to: packets, informational sheets, digital recordings, webinars, and online trainings
  • Directs training and development processes ensuring all new hires receive high-quality orientation and on-boarding experiences
  • Oversees day to day operations across multiple sites
  • Manage market efforts of every part of employment or contractor relationships from on the ground recruiting, onboarding, managing positive employment, to exit.Qualifications:
    • The successful candidate will be passionate about learning, capable of building high-performing teams, and an experienced 'player / coach' who can lead by example.
    • Balance working on operations projects with supporting day-to-day operational activities. Proven leadership to guide teams to execute in a dynamic, high growth environment Love collaboration and work well with others to maintain and build cross-functional (internal and external) relationships through data-driven approaches
    • Proactively and eagerly jump into field work and drive consistent execution in a fast-moving environment with a "make it happen" attitude
    • Ability coach, mentor, and develop a team of frontline leads
    • Experienced in facilitating training for frontline teams Excellent written and oral communication skills across frontline and leadership teams
    • Proven ability to translate data and present to drive field team activities. High level of EQ, ability to connect with and bring out the best in individuals Ability to grow and guide team of people across multiple locations Comfortable working a flexible, changing schedule to meet operational needs. Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and team-building skills required
    • Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize evolving workload independently and also for team
    • Knowledge of learning and development best practices and how to facilitate trainings Exercise sound judgment in interactions with others
    • Background in grocery, last mile logistics, with a large pool of 1099 contractors a plus
    • Experience managing and working with perishable inventory Minimum 5 years experience managing and leading teams
    • Minimum 1 year project management experience preferably in field operations
    • Minimum 1 year working in learning and development or strong working knowledge in facilitating field based training Bonus for work within high growth, early stage companies with large workforces
