Job Description:

Structural Integrity Associates, Inc. (SI) has an immediate need for a Director, Analytical Services , reporting to the Senior Vice President, Nuclear.

The Director will serve as a key member of the Nuclear leadership team and be responsible for providing technical oversight, staff leadership, team financial leadership, project management, and staff development of a team of technical consultants. Team leadership entails serving as both a technical and industry expert of the Analytical group while driving business development for key market segments identified in collaboration with the Business Unit Sr. VP and the Business Unit business development team. The Director will be responsible for projecting and monitoring the team budget and ensuring team profitability based on the team goals established. The Director's tasks will include both the coordination and resource assignments of the team as well as functioning as a Project Manager and key technical resource for activities across the organization. Responsibilities may include analysis, design, and detailing of structural projects and developing engineering services and markets centered on the selected candidate's unique skillset. Customer interface and business and specific proposal development will also be a key function of this role.

This position is a staff leadership role while the individual functions as a 'playing coach' with his or her own project responsibilities. It is envisioned that the Director will eventually develop business and markets yielding revenue and profitability for the business unit. The Director will have staff management responsibilities including budgeting, goal setting, mentoring, performance leadership as well as hiring.

Lead a team of engineers, analysts, and consultants in performing advanced analysis consulting and engineering projects across a wide span of industries and markets.
Function as a key member of the technical team in solving advanced analytical problems for clients.
Perform key staff development, leadership, and mentorship for his/her team.
Manage client relationships, negotiate contracts, and control project delivery.
Develop and maintain team budget and ensure overall team profitability based on the goals established.
Organize and conduct customer visits and business development activities.
Develop priority lists of prospective customers.
Conduct presentations to individual and groups of prospective customers.
Attend trade exhibitions, conferences, and meetings.
Become principal conduit of market intelligence and provide feedback to business unit.
Finite element analysis modeling and evaluation of power plant structures, pressure vessels, piping systems, rotating equipment, and other power plant components.
Fracture mechanics and stress analyses using the guidelines in the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code.
Prepare technical reports and calculations documents.

Required Skills/Qualifications:
BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
10+ years of professional engineering experience, including 5 years of resource and project management.
Professional Engineer (PE) with a license active in at least one state.
Strong technical education and experience relating to the design, analysis and construction of structures, with experience relating to seismic and/ or force protection.
Demonstrated ability to successfully lead a highly technical resource team as well as lead projects and project budgets from inception to completion.
Demonstrated proficiency in a variety of industry software (i.e., MicroStation, AutoCAD, Mathcad, Matlab, SAP2000, ANSYS, etc.).
Experience in ASME Code.

Desired Skills/Qualifications:
MS/PhD in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Knowledge and experience with commercial Nuclear industry with specific experience with ASME Section III, Section VIII, and Section XI.
Budgeting and financial management of a resource organization.
Project management professional training.
Business development background and experience.
Expertise in ANSYS, preferably ADPL.
