Job Description:
Position OverviewThe Business Development Manager (BDM) is
within our global sales team and has a deep understanding of
marketers who work within FORTUNE 1000 companies. Ideal candidates
have experience selling marketing technology (martech), adtech,
and/or marketing services. A proven track record in building a
long-term sales plan is important, as well as the ability to build
and cultivate key prospect relationships, identify business
opportunities, and negotiate and close business deals. The BDM will
find potential new clients, present to them, and ultimately convert
them into clients. Throughout the sales cycle, the BDM will
complete prospect research, keep current on industry news/events,
prepare proposal materials, coordinate and execute product demos
via screen share, help prepare marketing materials like
presentations, prepare proposals, etc. Because this position is
critical to building our sales pipeline, the BDM requires a great
capacity to take initiative. The BDM position will be a
quota-carrying role after 3 months of company / product
ramp-up.Responsibilities* Develop a complete understanding of the
MSIGHTS Platform and how to communicate features/benefits to a
marketing-focused professional within FORTUNE 1000 companies.
Target audience includes product marketing, marketing
communications, insights, analytics, and marketing procurement
professionals.* Build a prospect pipeline from reading industry
news/publications, attending conferences and events, plus
networking using tools like LinkedIn and MSIGHTS prospect
database.* Lead efforts to respond to Requests for Proposals (RFPs)
including identifying Subject Matter Experts and other resources,
establishing and managing assignments, editing and review, and
distribution of final proposal documents.* Compile standard
proposal content, templates, process/training documents and other
sales-related content. This includes helping to maintain a sales
support library of proposals, RFPs, template documents, etc.*
Prepare detailed activity updates within the company's CRM / Sales
Platform (HubSpot, Salesforce.com) and keep our sales pipeline
always current and updated.* Help build outbound email programs to
drive new prospects and build relationships with existing contacts.
This includes identifying content topics that will resonate with
our different prospect groups.* The position does not include
upselling or renewing current clients. Rather, the BDM is
exclusively focused on acquiring new clients.Qualifications* A
proactive approach to identifying and solving problems/managing
projects all with a high attention to detail.* Successful
candidates want responsibility and thrive in working with macro
direction because it allows them to show their creative-thinking
skills.* Excellent communication, organizational, listening, and
interpersonal skills. You need to be very comfortable on the
telephone and be ready to talk to prospects every day.* Basic
knowledge of document formatting and desktop publishing
techniques.* Excellent business writing and presentation
preparation skills.* A strong working knowledge of MS Office
(Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access) is essential. CRM,
Salesforce.com, HubSpot, and/or other cloud application user
experience is a plus.* Proven and documented track record of
success calling on MSIGHTS core target market and key decision
makers. * Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with a minimum of 5-years
related experience in martech, adtech, business intelligence,
analytics, advertising, media, and/or digital agencies.*
