Job Summary: Reporting to the Business Continuity Third Party Risk Management (BC TPRM) in the Second Line of Defense (SLoD), responsible for both the strategic development and review and challenge over the First Line of Defense (FloD) implementation and execution of all core activities of the Business Continuity Third Party Risk Management framework (Planning, Due Diligence, Ongoing Monitoring, Contract and Termination). Major Responsibilities: Reporting to the Disaster Recovery & Third Party Risk Management Director, responsible for overseeing and assessing the First Line of Defense's implementation of third party business continuity and disaster recovery principles. Responsibilities include:

  • Serve as a senior-level consultant on BC/DR third party risk management matters
  • Collaborates with FLoD BC TPRM engagement managers to conduct independent threat, risks assessments and recommend risk treatment strategies
  • Conducts review and challenge for all core activities of the FLoD BC TPRM processes inclusive of risk identification, gap risk measurement, and mitigation plans.
  • Champions and ensures Business Continuity Management (BCM) and the in-scope entities' roles and responsibilities, and requirements are clear
  • Drives the socialization, adoption, appropriate implementation, and ongoing maintenance of the BCM framework, policies, standards, methods, etc. across in-scope entities.
  • Drives and clearly understands BCM third party risk management technology requirements. This includes development of BC/DR TPRM system requirements, identifying improvement opportunities to increase efficiency and ensure alignment with changes to BC TPRM lifecycle.
  • Subject matter expertise on regulatory requirements and defining threats and risk scenarios in order to provide recommendations on changes or program enhancements required to address such requirements and threats.
  • Acts as a Business Continuity Management senior-level consultant and advocate towards the front line business units ensuring business buy-in and facilitating integration of second line frameworks policies, templates and technology.
  • Collaborates and aids BCM leadership in Board and senior management reporting
  • Performs SLoD BCM third party awareness training, including policies, standards, methodologies and relevant technologies
  • Assesses BCM policy, standards, procedures and risks compliance relating to FLoD controls design and definition and operational procedures
  • Leads and provides support of Internal Audits and Regulatory Exams
  • Ensures FLoD processes and controls compliance and maturity through KPI monitoring and performing review and challenge assessments.
  • Understand and apply internal policies/procedures, laws and regulations (internal and external) including delivery of RFPs, RFIs, and managing to regulatory requirements including but not limited to: FFIEC, OCC, FINRA, Federal Reserve Bank Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
    • Demonstrated strong skills in applying Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery planning principles to various levels (staff, management and executive) of the company.
    • Demonstrated strong skills in applying third party risk management principles
    • Technical knowledge of mainframe and client/server environments.
    • Demonstrated human relation skills to effectively interact with peers, subordinates, internal and external customers and vendors.
    • Excellent interpersonal, organization, analytical, problem solving, communication, and prioritization skills
    • Demonstrated ability to influence and motivate individuals and teams.
    • Advanced presentation skills and oral and written communication skills
    • Excellent project management skills, which include task identification, project planning, and ability to understand scope of recovery efforts, ability to coordinate critical activities during continuity exercises and events, and proficiency with tools required to pull project together.
    • Advanced analytical skills
    • Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
    • Fully proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including (but not limited to) Word, Excel, Access, Visio, and PowerPoint
    • Provide technical guidance and help lead the coordination of all corporate activities related to crisis and emergency management.
    • Willingness to travel
    • Crisis situations may require longer than normal workdays and weeks Education, Licensure, Experience:
      • Minimum of 10 years practical Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, and/Crisis Management experience as applied in a business and technical environment in the banking or financial industry preferred
      • Minimum of 5 year of banking or financial industry experience preferred
      • Professional certification from the Disaster Recovery Institute, International or from The Business Continuity Institute (e.g. ABCP, CBCP, MBCP, MBCI, CRP and/or other Business Continuity or industry related certifications preferred
      • BS in Financial Services, Computer Sciences, or Engineering preferred, or demonstrated equivalent experience The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed.
