We're seeking a junior-level civil/water resources engineer to join
our Charlotte, North Carolina team. As a junior-level engineer in
our water and natural resources practice, you will have the
opportunity to apply your knowledge to real-world civil, stormwater
and surface water quality challenges while also learning the
business skills needed for a successful consulting career. The
selected candidate will collaborate with a highly technical team in
Charlotte and throughout Geosyntec on projects that involve
landfill design and construction; civil site design; stormwater
design calculation; floodplain and natural resources management;
and erosion and sediment control.

ABOUT THE POSITION:
The selected candidate will perform assignments and manage projects
under the supervision of experienced professional engineers who
practice civil engineering for our utility, solid waste, and
transportation sector clients. Project assignments and management
opportunities will help develop knowledge, skills, and abilities in
both technical disciplines and professional consulting services.
Duties will include, but not be limited to:
* Civil site and stormwater design and construction support;
* Hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) analysis and modeling;
* Watershed, stormwater management, and stream restoration design
* Erosion and sediment control design and permitting;
* Engineering calculation and report development;
* Design, bid, and construction document preparation; and
* Proposal support and business development activities.
You should expect to work closely with experienced professionals
who will guide and integrate you into Geosyntec's culture and
manage and assist the development of entry level personnel. The
junior-level civil/water resources engineer position requires or
offers the following:
* Training and career development: This position requires OSHA
health and safety, first aid, and CPR training and medical
monitoring, paid for by the firm. We also offer professional

* Fieldwork: You will have opportunities to apply the techniques

Fieldwork is a vital part of career development for a consulting
engineer. At Geosyntec, your fieldwork opportunities may include
site inspections, construction oversight, and/or installation of
instrumentation. This position entails, on average, between 10% and
20% fieldwork dependent on current project.
* Overnight travel: Geosyntec's clients have project sites across
the United States and around the world. We provide opportunities to
our junior-level consultants to travel to project sites so they may
experience a range of project types and settings. This position

* BS degree in civil engineering. (required)
* Advanced degree in civil engineering with an emphasis on
stormwater/water resources. (preferred)
* Two to four years of professional experience in an engineering
* Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification. (required)
* On path to obtain Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure in North
Carolina within two years. (required)Knowledge with stormwater and
civil engineering modeling and software tools such as EPA-SWMM,
HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, AutoCAD, and ArcGIS. (required)
* Strong oral and written communication skills. (required)Valid
driver's license and a satisfactory driving record. (required)
The candidate should expect an often fast-paced consulting
environment and be able to manage time efficiently to meet
deadlines for multiple projects concurrently and be available to
travel to client facilities for meetings or construction oversight
often on short notice.
