Job Description:
We’re partnering with one of South Carolina's fastest-growing
automotive manufacturers, seeking an experienced Quality Manager to
play a critical role in shaping quality performance throughout
their Upstate operations. This role will be responsible for
overseeing the plant’s quality systems, leading a team of quality
professionals, and driving continuous improvement across
manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader
who understands automotive customer expectations and can build
strong quality discipline on the production floor. What you’ll do…
Lead the plant’s overall quality strategy, ensuring products meet
customer, regulatory, and internal quality standards. Manage and
develop a team of quality engineers, technicians, and inspectors
while promoting a culture of accountability, structured
problem-solving, and continuous improvement. Oversee customer
quality performance, including complaints, containment actions, and
corrective action responses with customers. Drive structured root
cause analysis and corrective action efforts using tools such as
8D, 5 Whys, and Fishbone to resolve production and customer issues.
Ensure compliance with IATF 16949 requirements and oversee key
quality processes including APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, and
MSA. Partner closely with operations, engineering, and supply chain
teams to identify process risks and improve manufacturing
capability. Monitor and improve key performance metrics including
PPM, scrap, rework, and first-pass yield. Lead quality planning and
support new product launches while ensuring the organization is
prepared for internal, customer, and third-party audits. What we’re
looking for… 7 years of experience in quality engineering or
quality leadership within automotive or high-volume manufacturing
environments. Experience leading quality teams in a Tier 1 or Tier
2 automotive manufacturing facility. Strong knowledge of IATF
16949, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, and MSA. Demonstrated
success leading root cause analysis and corrective action
processes. Experience managing customer quality issues and OEM
expectations. Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach
teams and influence cross-functional groups. Bachelor’s degree in
Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field preferred. What
this role offers… This role offers the opportunity to take
ownership of quality performance for a high-volume automotive
manufacturing operation and work directly with plant leadership to
drive measurable improvements. You’ll have the ability to influence
systems, develop your team, and strengthen the plant’s overall
quality culture while working in an environment that values
accountability, problem-solving, and continuous improvement. For
experienced automotive quality leaders who enjoy building strong
processes and developing teams, this is a chance to make a visible
impact on plant performance and customer satisfaction.
