Job Description:
A Snapshot of Your Day The primary purpose of this position is
to set up, operate, program manual and CNC horizontal milling
machines, manual lathes, and CNC lathes performing detailed
operations on a variety of parts and components. Use a range of
tools, including milling cutters, boring bars and heads, saws,
micrometers, gauges, indicators, and more. Your role will require a
proven understanding of shop mathematics and the capacity to
interpret complicated drawings, specifications, charts, and tables.
You should also have experience with precision measuring
instruments and/or specialized occupation training How You'll Make
an Impact Use material handling equipment to load/unload parts and
assist crane operators. Set up machines by installing tooling and
adjusting feeds, speeds, and settings per job specifications.
Secure and align workpieces using appropriate tools and fixtures to
ensure accurate machining. Follow established procedures, including
lineups, manuscripts, programs, and tooling sheets, to operate
machines effectively. Perform a wide range of machining operations
such as milling, drilling, turning, grinding, and more using
various control methods. Conduct in-process inspections and
integrity checks to maintain drawing tolerances. Make necessary
tool changes, offsets, and machine adjustments. Remove chips,
inspect and clean parts, perform preventative maintenance and minor
repairs, and complete required documentation such as log sheets and
downtime records. What You Bring High School Diploma or GED 5-7
years of experience with CNC machinery, programming, G & M code,
and manual machining which includes familiarity with blueprints.
Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship. Must be
able to pass the career readiness exam silver status. About the
Team Our Large Generator Rotor Operations team is responsible for
manufacturing large electric generator rotors weighing up to 275
tons. We operate within the Large Generator team to supply new 150
- 1000 megawatt generators to power plants all over the world. In
addition to manufacturing new rotors, we also service generator
rotors by providing inspections, rewinds, modernizations, and
upgrades. Our Gas Services division offers low-emission power
generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low
emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof,
