Commercial AV Technician is responsible for the installation,
configuration, and commissioning of commercial audio-visual,
control, and networking systems in corporate, hospitality,
healthcare, educational, and other commercial environments. This
role requires strong technical ability, attention to detail, and
the professionalism to work directly with clients, contractors, and
project managers. The ideal candidate thrives in structured
commercial environments and takes pride in delivering clean,
code-compliant, high-performance installations. Key
Responsibilities Install, terminate, label, and test commercial AV
cabling (CAT6, fiber, speaker wire, control wiring). Install and
mount displays, projectors, video walls, microphones, speakers, and
rack equipment. Build, wire, and dress equipment racks to industry
and company standards. Assist with system configuration and
commissioning of control systems, DSPs, and conferencing platforms.
Perform troubleshooting of AV, networking, and control systems.
Read and interpret blueprints, system schematics, and scope
documentation. Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and
field teams to ensure timely project completion. Maintain clean,
organized job sites that reflect company professionalism. Provide
client walk-throughs and basic system demonstrations when needed.
Maintain accurate documentation and uphold quality control
standards. Qualifications 2–5 years of commercial AV installation
experience preferred. Experience in structured cabling, rack
building, and commercial AV installations. Familiarity with
commercial control systems (Crestron, Control4, Extron, or similar)
Understanding of networking fundamentals (IP addressing, VLANs,
switches). Ability to read construction drawings and system
schematics. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Valid driver’s
license with a clean driving record. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.,
work on ladders/lifts, and travel as needed. Benefits Health,
