Technician Stabilus is a global leader in the production of gas
springs and dampers on five continents. Our products can be used in
a wide variety of industries, such as the automotive and office
chair manufacturing industries, furniture technology, solar
industry, medical technology, and many other industrial
applications. This position will be located in our U.S.
Headquarters in Gastonia, NC. Job Summary: The Maintenance
Technician will repair all types of production equipment used in
the manufacturing of Gas Springs. The position is located in a
highly automated and fast-paced production facility so response and
repair of breakdown requests must be quick and efficient. Excellent
communication skills are required to ensure notification to
production supervision of the status and what is required to bring
machinery back into production. Qualified candidates will need to
have good troubleshooting skills and a thorough knowledge of
mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and
electronics including PLC’s and control circuits. Currently, we
have an opening available on our 2nd shift which runs 3:00 p.m. -
11:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. There could be opportunities for
overtime as needed. There is a $2/hour shift premium for working on
the 2nd shift. Applicants should have some flexibility to
accommodate changes in the schedule based on company needs.
Essential Job Functions: · Create and respond to repair work orders
for all department equipment, either written or verbal. · Perform
electrical, electronic, and mechanical repairs to maintain
production equipment to defined specifications. · Support and
perform preventative maintenance on assembly equipment. Work with
Engineers and Supervisors on any items needed to start machine back
into production. · Follow all applicable safety, environmental and
electrical codes. · Troubleshoot problems by evaluating machine
sequences and fixing improper operation or lack of machine
operation. Breaking down the out-of-service issues by focusing on
the problem: hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, electronic, and
pneumatic or set-up. Notifying shift supervisor quickly when
additional assistance is required. · Demonstrate the ability to
read and interpret electrical, electronic, and mechanical
schematics. · Conduct daily inspection of assigned plant equipment
and assisting in the planning and implementation of required
Preventative Maintenance. · Maintain accurate maintenance and
repair records for all performed work in SAP-PM. Secondary Job
Functions: · Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. · Run
production machinery as required. · Continuous improvement of
production floor issues: air leaks, hydraulic leaks, steam leaks,
water leaks, safety related items, and maintenance shop 5S must be
performed when not working on machine downtime issues. Job
Requirements Education, Training, Certifications: · Associate’s
Degree in electronics, mechanical or military equivalent. In lieu
of Associate’s Degree, a minimum of 10 years’ experience as an
Industrial Maintenance Technician is required. Experience: · Two to
five years of experience in electronics, mechanical or military
fields required. Job Knowledge and Skills: · Employee must know the
specific maintenance techniques covering mechanical, electrical,
hydraulic, electronic and pneumatics for high volume production
machines and controls. · Must be able to work independently and
make decisions to solve machine issues. Self-starter, highly
motivated individual, ability to see wrong conditions and fix them
now! Able to work in a team, at times be the leader, identifying
and directing associates in the proper methods of repair. ·
Demonstrated success in installation, repairs and adjustments of
various production assembly machines is mandatory. · Thorough
knowledge and ability regarding the use of hand tools used in an
industrial production facility. · Blueprint interpreting and
schematic reading combined with the ability to use measuring tools
such as but not limited to the following: voltmeter, ohmmeter,
calipers, micrometers and dial indicators. · Understanding machine
set-up and run procedures and work instructions are a must. The
ability to assist the machine operator in the proper settings
required for machines to run at the required production rates. · PC
knowledge of Microsoft Office and SAP-PM for creating and editing
maintenance downtime cards is a daily role. Entering information
into the database after completing each breakdown or before end of
shift is required of each associate. · Displayed troubleshooting
knowledge needed for each discipline listed above. Timely repair is
required for the company to support customer requirements. This is
at times a fast-paced atmosphere which requires the ability to move
from one issue to the next, sometimes before completing the first
task. · DOT training required with training renewal every three
years.
