About this role: Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Data Engineer In
this role, you will:
- Lead complex initiatives with broad impact and act as key
participant in large scale software planning for the Technology
area
- Design, develop, and run tooling to discover problems in data
and applications and report the issues to engineering and product
leadership
- Review and analyze complex software enhancement initiatives for
business, operational or technical improvements that require in
depth evaluation of multiple factors including intangibles or
unprecedented factors
- Make decisions in complex and multi-faceted data engineering
situations requiring understanding of software package options and
programming language and compliance requirements that influence and
lead Technology to meet deliverables and drive organizational
change
- Strategically collaborate and consult with internal partners to
resolve highly risky data engineering challenges Required
Qualifications, US:
- 5+ years of Database Engineering experience, or equivalent
demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work
experience, training, military experience, education
- Hands on experience in Python and Spark
- Hands on experience in SQL, SAS, SSIS, SSRS and other tools to
support data mining and analytics insights
- Strong experience in relational databases, Database design,
Data Model development, querying, data warehousing, ETL process,
requirements gathering and/or decision support tools
- Hands-on experience in SQL especially in SQL Server & Teradata
environment
- Hands on experience in ETL development Required Qualifications,
International:
- Experience in Database Engineering, or equivalent demonstrated
through one or a combination of the following: work experience,
training, military experience, education Desired Qualifications:
- 3+ years of Tableau experience
- Ability to analyze metrics and articulate data trends both
visually and verbally
- Ability to develop partnerships and collaborate with other
business and functional areas
- Ability to present to multiple levels of management
- Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
skills
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication
skills
- Outstanding problem solving and analytical skills with ability
to turn findings into strategic imperatives
- Experience designing and optimizing complex SQL and/or SAS
queries involving table joins and correlated sub-queries on large
scale data tables
- Ability to work in a fast paced deadline driven environment and
learn quickly
- Experience analyzing large data sets, identifying trends, with
the ability to articulate findings when presenting to key business
stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize effectively and learn
quickly in a rapidly changing environment and function efficiently
under short deadlines
- Ability to execute in a fast paced, high demand, environment
while balancing multiple priorities
- Good knowledge of Cloud ecosystems such as Google Cloud
Platform or Microsoft Azure
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and
accuracy
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication
skills
- Good data interpretation and presentation skills
- Willingness/ability to take ownership of a project
- Exceptionally fast learner, able to reach non-trivial SME level
under tight deadlines
- High energy, can-do attitude, self-directed, pro-active,
self-starter who excels in an environment with limited supervision
