Job Description Job Description Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1 year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) opportunity is available in a school setting located in Gastonia, NC. This contract position is to cover a maternity leave and offers a dynamic caseload, allowing you to utilize your skills in school-based speech therapy while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities: Provide speech-language therapy services to students in grades K-8, serving approximately 25 students Manage a caseload including around 55 students with general speech needs and 10 AAC device users Support 2 self-contained classrooms through targeted therapy interventions Collaborate with the Lead Occupational Therapist for co-treatment sessions, enhancing therapy outcomes Conduct mostly group sessions, typically consisting of 2-4 students Deliver individualized speech services to 17 students with specific speech-only needs Maintain detailed documentation and progress reports in compliance with school and regulatory guidelines Qualifications: Valid SLP certification with CCC (Certificate of Clinical Competence) Experience working as an SLP in a school environment Strong skills in assessing and treating a wide range of speech and communication disorders Ability to effectively use AAC devices with students who have complex communication needs Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills to collaborate with educators, parents, and therapy team members Knowledge of co-treatment approaches and integrated therapy planning Location & Hours: Gastonia, North Carolina Full-time contract position, 40 hours per week Benefits: Full-time benefits package included Opportunity to impact student communication skills and academic success during a critical maternity leave period Candidates with a passion for school-based speech therapy and the ability to handle diverse caseloads are encouraged to apply for this rewarding position.
