EnergySolutions is hiring nuclear pipefitters for the fall outage
season! A Nuclear Pipefitter is a highly skilled professional
responsible for the safe layout, fabrication, and installation of
piping and tubing within a nuclear facility. This role requires a
deep understanding of piping systems to ensure the precise and
reliable operation of critical equipment. You will interpret
blueprints, route tubing and piping, and fabricate and install
supports, ensuring all work complies with relevant codes. Must be
able to obtain nuclear unescorted access, including meeting fitness
for duty requirements Essential Functions: - Perform all job duties
safely according to requirements. /n - Demonstrate proper use and
care of hand tools and measuring devices. /n - Machine cut and
thread pipe. /n - Manually cut and thread pipe. /n - Perform
hydrostatic and pneumatic testing. /n - Install pipe with screwed
fittings. /n - Install pipe with flanged fittings. /n - Install
pipe hangers. /n - Clean, bevel, prepare, and install pipe with
weld joints. /n - Test pipe installations. /n - Properly purge and
monitor stainless steel piping. /n - Install valves, traps, or
strainers. /n - Lay out pipe, including the use of templates. /n -
Interpret detailed pipe sketches and blueprints. /n - Fabricate
subassemblies from components (e.g., pressure reducing stations,
trap stations). /n - Install prefab subassemblies or component
parts. /n - Apply craft-related math skills. /n - Demonstrate
proper use and care of power tools. /n - Wear a respirator as
needed (blood pressure no higher than 150/90). /n - Use grinders
properly (do not remove guard without supervisor approval). /n -
Perform other related duties as assigned. /n /n Required Education
and Experience: - High School diploma or equivalent. /n - 3 years
of experience. /n - Prior nuclear power plant experience, highly
desired. /n - Must be able to obtain nuclear unescorted access,
including fitness for duty requirements. /n - Successful completion
of all training including, Radiation Worker Training, Plant Access
Training, Fitness for Duty, etc. /n - Ability to understand and
carry out written and oral instructions. /n - Ability to assemble
and disassemble objects and operate small equipment and power
tools. /n - Availability for shift work, if needed. /n - Ability to
support other crafts as requested. /n - Ability to work at varying
heights, in cramped quarters, extreme heat and/or cold, and loud
environments (above 89 decibels). /n - Knowledge of relevant
processes and procedures. /n - Ability to obtain and maintain
knowledge of technical manuals and procedures. /n - Ability to pass
specific training and qualifications. /n - Willingness to work
overtime, including shift work, weekends, and holidays as needed.
/n - Ability to pass all background and screening requirements,
including drug and/or alcohol screening. /n /n Physical Demands: -
Visual acuity, balancing, stooping, reaching, walking, manual
dexterity, grasping, feeling, hearing, talking. /n - Capacity to
think, concentrate, and focus for long periods. /n - Ability to
read and write complex documents in English. /n - Capacity to
reason and make sound decisions. /n - Ability to express thoughts
orally. /n - Strategic thinking and planning for growth. /n -
Ability to walk job sites and climb. /n - Ability to lift a minimum
