Hendrick Motorsports, a leading NASCAR Motorsports operation, is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Social Media Manager. The candidate must have a proven track record of building and executing social media campaigns and producing content that aligns with a brand's overall digital strategy. The position will manage several direct reports and be responsible for all aspects of the organization's social media accounts, including, but not limited to, developing relevant content, fostering fan engagement, expanding the reach of the brand across all platforms, and dissecting analytics to build upon strengths and identify areas of opportunity.The Social Media Manager will oversee a team of social media representatives and must be committed to the professional growth of team members and fostering a healthy, collaborative and creative work environment. The candidate must have expert knowledge of social media best practices strategies and tactics; emerging platforms and technologies; brand management; and marketing trends. In addition, the role will be responsible for managing and creating content for Hendrick Motorsports partner accounts and supporting other key stakeholders. The position will require the candidate to work effectively and efficiently with several internal departments - such as communications, account services and business development - on organizational and partner program activations and to ensure social media programs are aligned with key business objectives.The role requires ingenuity; impeccable interpersonal communication skills; brand management expertise; experience building and managing content calendars; professional-level grammar, creative writing skills and knowledge of Associated Press style and editing; an expert understanding of the existing and evolving digital media landscape; and an ability to engage and interact with diverse online communities of supporters, critics, journalists, organizational partners and other industry stakeholders.Responsibilities:

  • Effectively supervise direct reports; actively foster a professional, healthy and people-first work environment; invest in the professional growth of team members
  • Collaborate with the overall content team - including the official website and video production groups - to understand, shape and implement effective digital content strategies and ensure consistency across platforms
  • Execute the social media strategy for the organization across all brand accounts
  • Directly oversee and act as the primary point of contact for certain sponsor and key stakeholder accounts as it relates to social media content
  • Manage and assist with the creation of detailed and measurable content plans and best-in-class content that aligns with business objectives as well as brand standards and voice/tone guidelines
  • Lead content ideation; conceptualize and produce dynamic visual content; oversee asset creation and photo shoots for social channels
  • Monitor community management of social media channels, including regular fan interaction
  • Audit existing content to recommend tactics for improvement
  • Work with external stakeholders, including partners and drivers, to support their social media efforts
  • Interpret data to develop best practices; regularly analyze, measure and report key performance metrics; produce detailed campaign reports to communicate effectiveness and results
  • Actively monitor trends and implement best practices in the spaceQualifications:
    • A four-year degree in communications, public relations or related field
    • Minimum six years of experience in a social media, communications or related position
    • Expert knowledge of all social media platforms and the overall digital environment
    • Proven experience implementing long-term social media strategies and large-scale projects
    • Expert in digital and social media strategies and tactics
    • Experience with platform management, ROI/analytics tools and building detailed reports; ability to translate date into narrative form
    • Creative thinker and positive team player with a sharp eye for detail; must possess the ability to prioritize projects, manage feedback, stay calm under pressure and see the big picture
    • Knowledge of Associated Press style and editing
    • Excellent grammar and creative writing skills
    • Demonstrated success working in a collaborative and team-based environment
    • Track record of fostering positive relationships among peers, managers and organizational partners
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office software applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
    • Ability to travel and work a fluctuating, flexible schedule; some weekend work is required with this position
    • Experience with managing direct reports preferred
    • Experience with Photoshop and video editing preferred
