Wholesale Banking provides financial solutions to businesses across the United States and globally. Our four major business lines include Corporate & Investment Banking, Commercial Banking, Commercial Real Estate, and Wells Fargo Commercial Capital. We also have groups in credit risk, group risk, finance, marketing, human relations, and the Wholesale Chief Operating Office that support our businesses.
The Wholesale Control (WC) organization serves as the front line risk management organization within the Wholesale Banking group of Wells Fargo supporting the Wholesale businesses with risk strategy, implementation, and execution. The Wholesale Control team is accountable to assess and effectively manage risks across all risk types and Wholesale businesses delivering an integrated view of risks, producing a sustainable control environment, and instilling a culture of strong risk management. The team is responsible to identify and assess risks, design and implement controls, and execute and monitor the controls to ensure they are working effectively to manage risk across Wholesale. Wholesale Control interfaces with Independent Risk Management and Audit to drive comprehensive and consistent implementation of regulatory and corporate risk policies and programs across Wholesale.
Wells Fargo Commercial Capital Business Control (WFCC) provides operational risk, regulatory control, financial crimes and business risk management services through an optimized model which leverages centralized functions and agile business focused teams to support sound risk management for the Capital Finance, Commercial Distribution Finance, Corporate Trust Services, Equipment Finance, International Trade Services, Strategic Capital and Renewable Energy & Environmental Finance lines of business. The risk management team enables efficient and effective execution of Corporate, Wholesale, and Line of Business programs, policies, and procedures to ensure alignment with the overarching risk management priorities of Wells Fargo while meeting the unique needs of each business.
This position will execute enterprise and Wholesale risk programs within Wells Fargo Commercial Capital Business Control.
The team member will integrate with the enterprise and Wholesale program teams to understand execution and documentation requirements of the risk programs. Using that understanding this team member will design, implement and execute the programs. Program execution will require a high level of coordination across Wells Fargo Commercial Capital Business Control. This team member will report to the WFCC Risk Programs leader.
Individual Responsibilities

  • Integrate with the enterprise and Wholesale Control teams for one or more of the following programs: o Enterprise Risk ID (ERID)
    o Enterprise Measurement (Risk Appetite and Key Indicators)
    o Resolution & Recovery Program (RRP)
    • Integrate with the enterprise and Wholesale Control teams for one or more of the following enterprise priorities: o Risk Transformation
      o Insured Depository Inst Rule (IDI)
      o Libor Alternative
      • Review and consult on new Policies and Procedures related to the enterprise programs and/or priorities.
      • Design and implement strategies to implement and maintain programs across Wells Fargo Commercial Capital Business Control.
      • Ensure Wells Fargo Commercial Capital Business Control is timely and compliant with the enterprise programs and priorities.
      • Create and maintain metrics, reporting and routines relating to the implementation and health of these programs. Leadership, integrity, and credibility will be determining factors in selection. Successful candidates will be articulate and possess a demonstrated leadership capability; they will be impressive in their inter-personal effectiveness and with regard to their accomplishments. This role requires a leader with strong relationship management, influencing, vision and execution skills. A key differentiator will be the ability to understand and operate successfully in a complex and matrixed corporate environment. The role requires a sense of urgency, passion for results, and personal integrity. Team members support our focus on building strong customer relationships balanced with a strong risk mitigating and compliance-driven culture which firmly establishes those disciplines as critical to the success of our customers and company. They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit's risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirement.

        Required Qualifications
        • 6+ years of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), or a combination of both; or 6+ years of IT systems security, business process management or financial services industry experience, of which 3+ years must include direct experience in compliance, operational risk management, or a combination of both Desired Qualifications
          • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
          • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
          • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
          • Ability to interact with all levels of an organization Other Desired Qualifications
            • Experience in risk program execution and management
            • Experience in one or more of the following: Enterprise Risk ID, Risk Appetite, and Resolution & Recovery Program
            • Understanding of best-practice risk management techniques applicable to the business activities and products that make up WFCC
            • Experience with Wells Fargo's corporate organizational structure, operating model, and the systems necessary to support the WFCC risk program (e.g. SHRP, RCSA, ILD, DLP, etc.)
            • Knowledge of relevant financial regulations and understanding of how they are implemented, managed and enforced in LOBs similar to those found in the designated LOB
            • Strong interpersonal, influencing and communications skills with an ability to interact effectively with stakeholders and regulators, including experience with virtual, matrixed leadership and the ability to effectively manage and build relationships within the business and enterprise Risk function
            • Proven leadership and project management skills to drive alignment across stakeholder groups to develop and deliver repeatable end-to-end risk management solutions and controls aligned with business/customer processes
            • Demonstrated leadership ability that embodies the Wells Fargo Vision & Values, unwavering ethical integrity, and leadership competencies
            • Strong analytical ability used to identify risks and confidently raise issues, escalate early and engage in constructive credible challenge and will do so independently when necessary
            • Proven ability to proactively manage and resolve conflict and effectively defend decisions with objective rationale
            • Ability to design and implement control analytics and reporting to drive effective decision making and results
            • Demonstrated ability to solve problems and analyze issues when data is collected from multiple sources and know how to ask the right questions to obtain the information needed to properly assess potential risks
            • Prior experience in managing and/or creating policies and/or procedures particularly those tied to regulatory compliance requirements
            • Ability to manage multiple assignments and tasks, set priorities, and adapt to changing conditions and work assignments
            • Knowledge of WFCC products and services
            • Ability to gain/use knowledge of the WFCC LOBs to identify, evaluate, measure and mitigate relevant risks arising from related operations
