Job Description:
- This position is responsible for manually auditing contractor invoices monthly and within a three-week period.
- This position will be assigned to a specific area within a Client region to manually audit contract supplier invoices for services in that respective area's portion of more than 3 million locate ticket charges.
- Manual audits include requirements to identify, record, and report incorrect service charges and penalties for supplier services found not in compliance with state laws and contract terms with Client.
- In the monthly audit findings report, this position provides the supporting information and justification of their audit findings broken down by original charges and invoice numbers, penalty type, Client member code, and region and state for penalties of insufficient services, all done manually.
- These audit findings are also utilized to identify operational opportunities for our contractor to improve their services for Client (timeliness, quality, customer service).
- This position is one of four in an audit team for the Customer Delivery Locates organization at Client.

Education Requirement:

  • 0-5 years of experience with the Associates or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a finance-related field.
  • In lieu of an Associates or Bachelor's degree, 5-years or more experience in auditing accounting or finance related invoices and reports.
  • Internal and/or external auditing experience, preferably from a large public accounting and/or other consulting/professional services firm.
  • Holds or is working towards CPA or other certification is preferred (e.g., CIA, CFE, Six Sigma)
  • Work within a collaborative, team environment and contribute to the successful execution of operational and financial audits done manually and consulting engagements, including delivering high quality audit documentation and audit deliverables.
  • Gather and analyze data manually, using reasoning and logic, and draw appropriate conclusions.
  • Evaluate the design and effectiveness of processes with an appropriate level of professional skepticism.
  • Monitor and track the status of post-audit action plans and perform follow-up procedures to validate implementation and risk mitigation.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships within the organization at Client, our contract partners, and/or our customers.
  • Develop and maintain current knowledge of matters impacting the energy industry and the company.
