Senior Cost Accountant
Our client, a booming manufacturing organization, is adding a Sr. Cost Accountant to their team due to growth. This is for a $5 million-dollar division of a billion-dollar parent company. Position is onsite in Charlotte and will be the sole finance person there but will be working closely with the corporate team. There are several other divisions in the office as well. Great benefits with work/life balance. Up to $100k base plus discretional bonus. Permanent direct hire.
Overview of the Senior Cost Accountant:

• 
  
• The Senior Cost Accountant manages and directs the day-to-day plant accounting and preparation of plant cost information.
  
• Manages the month end close process for the plant, working in cooperation with the head corporate finance staff.
  
• Assists with monthly variance and trend analysis, reports on actual versus budget variances and works with the Plant management team to identify and implement opportunities for cost savings, operating efficiencies, and best practices.
  
• Assists with preparation of various financial statements and reports, monthly as well as for ad hoc requests.
  
• Manage and prepare monthly analysis for all plant General Ledger accounts, ensuring timely follow up on any unusual or unexpected variances.
  
• Assists with monthly forecasts annual budget and annual 5 years strategic plans, leads the plant management group with budget preparation and on-going budget adjustments throughout the year.
  
• Work with the head office corporate finance staff and local plant management to: (a) establish and monitor system controls, (b) develop procedures to improve existing systems and (c) ensure that corporate policies and procedures are being adhered to.
  
• Coordinates the preparation of external and internal audit materials.
  
  Preferred Qualifications of the Senior Cost Accountant:

  • 3 years of more of cost / inventory/general accounting experience.
    
  • Ability to work onsite M-F in Charlotte.
