Job DescriptionCollections/Credit SpecialistPay: $24 - $26 / hourLocation: Charlotte, NCIndustry: ManufacturingJob Overview:This position is responsible for managing and directing all credit and collection activity for specific locations. The Collections/Credit Specialist follows policy and procedures for all credit and collection related functions, and ensures company and state compliance to policies and procedures are maintained. In addition, this position evaluates and monitors risk associated with credit limits, aged account balances, and other pertinent information, and takes appropriate action to minimize risk to the company.Responsibilities:

  • Follows established policies and procedures for all credit and collection functions ensuring company profitability and minimal risk are achieved for specific company location(s).
  • Conducts collection activity on past due and over credit limit accounts to include: placing and receiving customer calls, drafting and mailing delinquency letters, and communicating with customers via email.
  • Completes daily tasks of cash drawer balancing, branch invoicing, A/R payment application, and prepares and makes bank deposits.
  • Assists customers with account reconciliations, provides copies of invoices and account statements as requested.
  • Manages credit risk and ensures minimum branch portfolio performance metrics are continuously met.
  • Processes credit applications within time guidelines upon completion of credit reference verification. Reviews existing accounts for credit limit increases and decreases based on payment history, account tenure, and buying patterns.
  • Maintains company documentation and records related to credit management, and customer files.Requirements:
    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, or similar field plus 3 years credit management experience or High School Diploma plus 8 years of credit management experience required.
    • Agility and Microsoft Office proficiency required.
    • Ability to travel to branches and conduct customer visits approximately 25% of the time.
