Sr. Manager, Transportation Planning, the Supervisor,
Transportation Planning is responsible for leading a team of
transportation planners, providing guidance, training, and support
as needed. You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day
operations of the transportation planning team, ensuring timely
deliveries, and implementing strategies to enhance overall
efficiency. They will foster a positive and collaborative work
environment, promoting teamwork and continuous improvement.Primary
Responsibilities1. Transportation Planning--- Develop and implement
effective transportation plans to optimize routes, reduce costs,
and improve overall efficiency.--- Coordinate with internal
departments to ensure accurate and timely transportation of
goods.2. Scheduling and Coordination--- Create and manage
transportation schedules, considering factors such as delivery
deadlines, product specifications, and transportation capacity.---
Coordinate closely with drivers, carriers, and other stakeholders
to ensure seamless execution of transportation plans.3. Performance
Metrics--- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to
measure the efficiency and effectiveness of transportation
operations.--- Analyze performance data to identify trends, make
recommendations for improvements, and implement corrective actions
as needed.4. Compliance and Regulations--- Ensure compliance with
transportation laws, regulations, and safety standards.--- Stay
informed about industry trends and changes in transportation
regulations to adapt processes accordingly.5. Problem Resolution---
Proactively identify and address transportation-related challenges,
working collaboratively with the team to find solutions and prevent
future issues.--- Communicate regularly with internal teams,
suppliers, and customers to provide updates on transportation
activities and address any issues or concerns.6. Team Leadership---
Supervise and lead a team of transportation planners, providing
guidance, training, and support as needed.Job Complexity--- Proven
experience in transportation planning or a related field.--- Strong
leadership and team management skills.--- Excellent organizational
and problem-solving abilities.--- Familiarity with transportation
management systems (TMS) and related software.--- Effective
communication and interpersonal skills.--- Ability to work in a
fast-paced and dynamic environment.--- Knowledge of transportation
regulations and compliance.Minimum Qualifications--- High school
diploma or GED required--- 3+ years supervisory experience in a
warehouse or supply management--- Strong leadership and team
management skills.--- Excellent organizational and problem-solving
abilities.--- Familiarity with transportation management systems
(TMS) and related software.--- Effective communication and
interpersonal skills.--- Ability to work in a fast-paced and
dynamic environment.--- Knowledge of transportation regulations and
compliance.Education & Experience Preferred (Not Required):---
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university
preferred.--- Bi-lingual Spanish preferred--- Computer proficiency
is required in the following: Windows-based software applications
(Word, Excel, and Access), Outlook, Desktop Publishing, and Power
Point.--- SAP and Envision experience preferred.--- 5+ years job
related experience preferred.--- Production and Lean Manufacturing
experience preferred.Compensation and Benefits:The target base
salary range for this full-time, salaried position is
between$47,600-$79,800Individual base pay depends on work location
and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and
relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms
of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental,
401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of
