ResponsibilitiesProvide holistic nursing care to individuals with
intellectual and developmental disabilitiesAssist the Registered
Nurse in delivering quality nursing services to persons
supportedProvide health related training to unlicensed
personnelAdminister medications and treatments or assist the person
supported with medication administrationAssist with ensuring
preventative and routine medical appointments are scheduledConduct
medication closest assessmentsCollect health related dataObserve
for and report any abnormal health related findings to the
physicianCommunicate with physicians, pharmacies, medical
suppliers, and the Interdisciplinary TeamAdvocate for the people
supported and assist with developing community supports to promote
optimal health for the people supportedRequirementsGraduation from
an accredited licensed nurse programCurrent nursing license with no
restrictions to practice nursing.Current CPR Certification or
eligibility to obtain certificationMust be able to communicate
effectively with Interdisciplinary Team Members, as well as the
people supported and their familiesMust be able to work
independently, be organized, and possess the ability to prioritize
work tasksPhysical requirements include: ability to regularly lift
20 pounds. Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds. Must be
able to pull a minimum of 25 pounds. Must be able to squat, kneel,
crawl, crouch, climb, and stoop. Must be able to regularly stand
and walk. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in CPR from the
floor level. Vision requirements include close vision, distance
vision, and peripheral vision. Must be able to communicate.Why
